What's Your Hairstory?

Good question.

Everybody has a Hair-story that tells a tale throughout our lives and weaves its way into our unconscious mind bringing up common feelings of independence, identity and self worth. Hair is literally the crown we never take off and we wear it proudly.. We can always change it, grow it, cut it, dye it and leave it all alone only to do it all again. Thats the magic because its organic and grows along with us, our faithful silent companion, by our sides through our ups and downs.

Memories of “Sun-in” soaked teenage hair by the pool or beach, buzzing it off as an affront to societal norms, knowing it would magically transform us into a new person, our first attempts at independence from our family and community we grew up in. Hair is always with us, sometimes behaving or driving us mad like a naughty sibling or the days when we love it so much because its just seems to work out in our favor. It comes with us on job interviews as we try and tame it into submission so we look put together and also when we fall in love, dancing tendrils reaching out to each other looking for human connection.

The term “self-care” is widely used now and it’s rituals have extended itself into beauty and hair. Trying out products that bring us goodness and ease has never been easier, with stores like Credo and Shop Good here in San Diego, finding what brings us joy and that good feeling of just knowing that your purchase power is not harming ourselves and our planet. Adding Hairstory form Bumble and bumble founder Michael Gordon because we are inspired by its simplicity and ability to target hair needs in a really beautiful way. Osea Malibu skin care has always been something i wanted to have in store because their skincare is also 100% vegan seaweed based and it performs beautifully as well. Knowing that what we promote isn’t doing you or us harm just feels right.

What are our daily rituals that bring us hope and the power we need to live and thrive in this world in this day. Its our diversity that adds so much dimension to our life, like a garden of wildflowers, each its own special beauty and when together a masterpiece.
